The iconic Khvostov 7G 0X exotic auto rifle makes a triumphant return in Destiny 2 The Final Shape, bringing a beloved classic back into the hands of Guardians. Unlocking this powerful weapon requires players to navigate through a series of hidden quest steps, collection tasks, and exploration across the Pale Heart. Understanding the precise locations and prerequisites will help you acquire both the legendary and exotic versions efficiently.
Unlocking the Legendary Khvostov 7G 0X Base
Before obtaining the exotic variant, players must first secure the legendary version of the Khvostov 7G 0X. This process involves searching the Pale Heart for nine Region Chests and completing Alone in the Dark quests for Micah-10 to locate six Encryption Bits inside Cysts. Once all fifteen bits are collected, they combine into a Lost Encryption Code used to open a chest in The Divide.
Retrieving these items requires careful exploration across key locations like The Landing, The Blooming, and The Impasse. Players can consult detailed resource guides on Khvostov 7G 0X Destiny 2 Location And Quest Guide to track down every chest location quickly.
Gathering Motes of Light in the Pale Heart
Upgrading the rifle to its exotic form requires collecting seventeen Motes of Light scattered across the destination. Eight of these motes come from finding small Visions of the Traveler placed in hidden spots around the Pale Heart. The remaining nine motes drop from unique Overthrow bosses in The Landing, The Blooming, and The Impasse areas.
Defeating all nine unique bosses ensures you gather the required items to synthesize the Mote of Primordial Light. Players experiencing missing motes should verify their inventory or clear remaining bosses systematically.
Claiming the Exotic Auto Rifle
With the Mote of Primordial Light in hand, navigate to the Speaker's old room inside the Lost City Tower. Place all eight Visions of the Traveler on their respective pedestals to spawn the final golden chest. Opening this chest awards the exotic Khvostov 7G 0X, featuring ricocheting rounds that deal bonus damage to surrounding combatants.
